Eye Health
Our eyesight is one of our most precious senses and it makes perfect sense to protect it throughout life. Regular eye examinations with your optometrist at Stepaside Eyecare can help to detect changes to your vision and eye health at an early stage. This allows us to offer advice and refer on for further opinion and treatment if necessary.

ChildhoodProblems such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (a turning of the eye) and hypermetropia (long-sightedness) need to be detected before the age of eight in order for vision to be corrected.
TeenagersMyopia (short-sightedness) causes difficulty with distance vision and usually begins in our early teens. Glasses and contact lenses improve vision to the level needed for school, sports and socialising.
AdulthoodIs using the computer all day giving you a headache? Is driving at night a challenge? These are just two of the things that a full eye examination and advice from your optometrist can help with.
Later LifeWith the passing of time our eyes can change. Cataracts cause hazy, clouded vision. Glaucoma takes away peripheral vision. Macular Degeneration reduces central vision. Regular eye examinations detect these changes early and allow us to refer patients for early diagnosis and treatment, helping to preserve vision.
